The shame is that he was that particular type of person who inhabited that strange land where attitude and arrogance take precedence over good humour or an easy-going nature. I have found through my 28 years of research that such a person usually has problems with insecurity and has real problems when in an authority position not only relating to those below them (hence the superior arrogance and sneering attitude) but relating to those above (usually jumping to it or unnecessarily readily agreeing with the management).
People don't always adhere to all of those, but Lawrence certainly did. I just don't get it, basically. I've run in to others before and since. They're all the same. Insecure as hell; scared of everything and pretending they're superior to you. Ech…
