In 1997 I went up to Louise Woodward's home village, Elton, in Cheshire to enable Virgin Net to help the locals and Louise's family out with web access given the bizarro world decision by the Judge to announce the judgement on Lawyers weekly.
I haven't got time to expand on the whole thing right now, but I'll come back to it. It was morally bankrupt from the press's (and our) perspective; screwed up; intensely interesting; frighteningly emotional… amazing, frankly. There are some incredible photos. Very scary. Her wee sister was very sweet. It reminded me of being in Manchester.
Diggory came up too with his ace girlfriend to help out and do anything technical that might come up. But that's as maybe really. Point is that, man, after the event my head truly caved in and at one point I was to be found bursting in to tears in a pub having had the most god-awful argument with my boss, Tony. Ugh. Screwed up. Bleugh.
